An important announcement from our own Silverpelt:

It is official!

This Friday marks the first ever Creature Breeder Community Quiz! From Friday June 1st, 2007 till Sunday June 3rd, 2007 our quiz will run, and is graciously hosted on our very own Moondreams’ site. A link to the quiz page will be posted just after midnight on Friday, But for now here is a run down of the info and rules.

It will be 20 Questions.
It will take place over 3 days.
All answers can be found between the forums and the main site.
Cheaters will be disqualified and maybe banned from future quiz events.
First place is a Special Forum Title(Gold) and 1000FB
Second place is a Special Forum Title(Silver) and 500FB
Third place is a Special Forum Title(Copper) and 250FB
Mods and Admins will not be playing!(we already know the answers)

If there is a lot of cheaters I will not offer up another event.
I say this in warning now, as if this does not go smoothly then there will be no more quizzes. If it goes well I promise you I will do more events. you may quote me on this.

Here are some of the rules, I plan on releasing a full announcement about a week before I decided to do the event. Breaking these rules will result in disqualification.

No discussing questions during the event. After it’s over is fine, and I will even post the answers so you can see what you got wrong.
All Answers must be submitted on the quiz page.
All answer must be submitted before 11:59PM -5GMT June 3rd 2007
Do not spam the quiz form, once is enough

How the winners will be chosen

Winners will be chosen by the amount correct out of twenty(?/20).
In the event there is a tie, depending on the number of people who tie; We may have a mini quiz show down or a random drawing.

Dear farmers,

You’ll notice that there is now a place to enter your email address on the ‘Settings’ page. We are asking that everyone please enter a valid email, as, in the event that you forget your password ( trust me it happens ;) , we need some way to send you a new password.

Also, ChooChoo has cooked up a new treat for the landscaping section of the store. Enjoy!

Dear farmers,

My farm has been buzzing with reports of people adding profane or offensive comments to other users’ farms. We have always tried to take a hands-off approach when it comes to the way people use our site, but the number of young people has forced us to reevaluate our stance. Starting right now, and with the help of the forum moderators, we are enacting a strict anti-profanity policy.

Here’s how it works:

If someone posts profane, hateful or offensive words to your farm, and you want them to stop, report the incident in the forum. Do not delete the comment, just post the url of your farm. We will give the person ONE WARNING. If that user is ever caught doing it again, their account (with all creatures) will be removed from the site.

Hopefully this will help our younger users to feel a bit more comfortable.

I’d also like to remind everyone that there are adults who play creaturebreeder, and sometimes they will post things to each other’s farms that you might find offensive. Please, simply stop reading these
comments. They are not for you.

CreatureBreeder.com’s users are a good bunch :) and I’ve never felt the need to remark on netiquette (online politeness) before. However, we’ve had a lot of new users lately, and I know there are some behaviors that people find particularly frustrating ;) so I just wanted to post a few little reminders:

Please don’t spam other peoples farms. Don’t make more than one proposal at a time, and don’t post the same comment over and over and over.

Please don’t make purchase proposals for amounts of money that you don’t have.

Please respect your neighbors wishes; don’t offer or propose anything to anyone who’s already rejected you more than once.

Dear farmers,

I’ve noticed from our logs that most of you are using Internet Explorer to access CreatureBreeder.com. We try hard to make the site look good on all browsers, but IE doesn’t make it easy. Personally, I use Firefox. It’s free, built by volunteers, and a really great browser. Give it a try, you’ve nothing to lose! :)
