Dear farmers,

We’ve had a lot of feedback about how slow the site is. I know
it’s frustrating, and I wish I could say that we’ll be on new
hardware soon, but I honestly don’t know when that’ll be. Creaturebreeder.com is a purely volunteer effort, so we have to
try to scrape by with whatever software/configuration optimization
we can manage.

That said, we have been tweaking things lately, and we hope you
will notice some improvements.

Dear farmers,

I’ve just learned that Adobe has released the beta of Flash Player 9 for linux. This is great news for creaturebreeder, as we require at least version 8, which was previously only available on Windows and OSX (both pay-to-play operating systems). Is there a linux user out there who could test it out? I’m really interested in the Firefox/Linux/Flash Player 9.0 combination, but if you can get the Player to work in Konqueror, that would be great too. See here

I am sorry for the latest down-time. It was another unlooked for server crash. Hopefully, in the future, we’ll be able to move to something a bit more reliable.

Oh, also, the list of ‘popular farms’ on the Find a Farm page are now sorted by how many bookmarks each farm has.

A small change: the favorite farms are now sorted alphabetically. Also, the brightness of the text indicates how recently a farm has been updated.

A couple people have asked me about the weird plant in my farm. It’s a Twilight’s Vine, and I found it out in the wild :) You may be able to find one too, but they are very rare. Keep your eye out for other, limited edition, accessories…
